Eugénie Congi, M.Ed, Surintendante de l’Éducation, Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE), has been a committed professional in education for nearly 30 years. Her career path started as a special needs educator, then as a teacher in elementary, secondary and postsecondary levels.  She has also enjoyed being a school principal. As a superintendent, Eugénie is responsible for student achievement in elementary and secondary schools. She is at the helm of the 21st Century learning leadership team, the Consortium d’apprentissage virtuel de langue française de l’Ontario (francophone online learning) and she leads the innovation and deep learning initiatives as well as the CECCE’s Student Exit Profile. She possesses a vast professional network in Ontario and collaborates with international authorities in education, including the EdCan Network as an Advisory Council member. Eugénie’s passions and priorities are learning, well-being, growth mindset and the success of every student in a complex and evolving world.

Emilie Cormier has been a Professor at College La Cité for over 3 years. As a member of the Équipe d’innovation pédagogique at the College, she is always looking for new tools and technologies to improve the student’s experience in her classrooms. She is a Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) focused in Mechanical Engineering from University of Ottawa. She is currently undertaking a master’s degree in education, with a specialty in educational technology.

Benjamin “SenorBenji” Denis, Marketing Director, is the main communications link for Esports Academy of Canada with its current and future partners. He received his degree in Business Administration, BBA, in 2015 at the University of Quebec in Montreal, but it is in 2016 with the creation of the “Maplestone League” that he made himself known on the electronic sports scene Quebec. The Maplestone League has quickly become a reference for its professionalism and its creation of innovative content. Benjamin is an initial member of Montreal Esports and was part of all his adventures.

 

Primarily in charge of partners and sponsorships, Benjamin has also organized several major tournaments and broadcasts. Few people are on the lookout for new trends and the state of the electronic sport market than Benjamin. “Versatile” would be the term that describes it best because the responsibilities as: Caster, Stream Manager, Designer Overlay, Community Manager, Event Organizer, Shoutcaster, Admin, Shotcaller are all posts and positions he has mastered in art.

Naza Djafarova is the Director of Digital Education Strategies at Ryerson University. For the last 15 years, she has been responsible for leading the development of innovative teaching tools and applications.

Lucie Labelle is now in her 12th year as Coordinator and Professor of the Présciences de la santé – voie vers les certificats et diplômes program (PreHealth Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas). She greatly enjoys creating and implementing authentic leaning experiences to allow my students the opportunity not only to better their knowledge and know-how, but to further develop their workforce skills. In addition to her professional career, she is co-chair of the Équipe d’innovation pédagogique at Collège La Cité as well as co-chair of the Provincial Heads of Pre-health Coordinators Group. Her academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Collège La Cité and a master’s degree in biology from Carleton University.

Paula Mastrilli, RN, MScN, PhD, is the Chair of Nursing in the Sally Horsfall Eaton School of Nursing at George Brown College. Dr. Mastrilli has extensive experience in developing, coordinating and delivering innovative programs to nurses and allied health care providers. Dr. Mastrilli has collaborated with colleagues are recipients of several grants for the development and evaluation studies into the effectiveness of virtual simulation. Results of these studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals.

Michel Singh is CTO at eCampusOntario. Building systems has been a major focus of his work throughout my 20 years in higher education. He’s done this at many levels going from small scale projects within the classroom to large initiatives involving a number of institutions. Mixing a deep understanding of pedagogy and of IT technical skills, he has always fully embrace the opportunity that arises at the intersection of both fields of study. He is motivated by addressing the needs of all stakeholders in education by leveraging systems, people and resources through collaboration and hard work.

Originally from France, Mr. Antonin Tran of the Esports Academy of Canada is the current head coach of the electronic sports teams of the Electronic Sports Club of the Université de Montréal. He has held this position since 2016. He has also coached the Overwatch team for the same club and is involved in several volunteer projects oriented around the training and well-being of casual players. Through his experience as a transition house social worker and his medical research work, Dr. Tran has learned to work with people with severe physical and mental disabilities.

 

As part of his duties at the Academy, Mr. Tran will be able to use his knowledge in coaching, biology and neuropsychology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, a master’s degree in neuroscience (neuropsychology of development and physical imaging) and is completing a master’s degree in neuropsychology on the rehabilitation of the visual system at the Université de Montréal.

 

In addition to contributing to the creation of training programs, he will act as technical trainer for Overwatch specialty training programs.

Margaret Verkuyl NP PHC, MN is a Professor (Nursing) at Centennial College and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Toronto. She is a leader in developing and researching virtual simulations. These simulations won seven prestigious awards. While gaining international attention, the virtual gaming simulations are now pervasive in nursing education throughout North America. She has published numerous scholarly and research articles and has authored a book chapter on topic of virtual simulations.

For more than a quarter century he has been the visionary behind a myriad of productions that have as their hallmark visual poetry and profound emotion. His use of visual imagination through projected media in all forms and in all kinds of spaces is Erick Villeneuve’s legacy.

 

He is a pioneer in this field and Multimedia Novalux (the Company he founded in 1989) is and has always been at the forefront of revolutionizing image projection techniques and technology for use in presentation of scenic environments in large-scale productions.
